March 10, 2021 – Rochester mob hit man Dominic (Trigger Dom) Taddeo will have to wait two more years to taste freedom. The former mafia enforcer has been locked up for more than three decades.

U.S. District Court Frank Geraci, Jr. in the Western District of New York denied Taddeo’s motion for compassionate release from federal prison this week, unconvinced his obesity, elderly age and high blood pressure issues putting him at higher risk of contracting the COVID-19 virus warrant an early walk-date. Taddeo is doing his time in Florida. He’s currently scheduled to be released in 2023.

The 64-year old Taddeo was on the front lines of the Alphabet Wars in the 1970s and early 1980s, where three different mob factions, dubbed the A Team, the B Team and the C Team, faced off for control of the Rochester rackets. Almost the entire crime family was either killed or sent to prison to serve long sentences for racketeering and murder in the fallout from the war. Today, the Rochester mob no longer exists.

In 1989, Taddeo was convicted on weapons charges. Two years later, he pleaded guilty to three gangland homicides and five overall murder conspiracies. Taddeo killed Nick Mastrodonato on May 25, 1982 and then shot Gerald Pelusio to death on August 27, 1982. The following year, he blew Dino Tortatice away on his parents front lawn on August 2, 1983. Mastrodonato, Pelusio and Tortatice were members of the C Team. Taddeo was the A Team’s main enforcer.
