January 24, 2020 — Detroit drug lord Dammone (Slim) Brantley was recently released to a halfway house in Atlanta after 17 years in federal prison. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Brantley, 48, served as second-in-charge of the infamous PA Boys gang, heading the organization’s expansion efforts down south in Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee.
Slim Brantley and PA Boys boss Reginald (The Dude) Dancy were nailed by the DEA in a narcotics trafficking and CCE case in 2003. Both were convicted and sentenced to 20 years behind bars. The 49-year old Dancy is scheduled to walk free next January. Leonard (Rico) Brantley, Slim’s older brother, was also busted in the case and did a five piece in a fed joint.
Based off Puritan Avenue on Detroit’s westide, the PA Boys maintained heavy ties to the iconic Black Mafia Family (BMF), a nationwide wholesale cocaine-consortium birthed in Motown by beloved kingpin Demetrius (Big Meech) Flenory that soon spawned two dozen satellite wings around the country. Flenory moved to Atlanta in 1996 and used the PA Boys for a collection of subcontracting duties back in the Motor City until his own bust in the mid-2000s sent him tumbling into a 30-year prison term.
DEA agents surveilled Flenory in the presence of Slim Brantley and Dude Dancy on numerous occasions in Detroit and Atlanta attending a string of parties, pro sporting events and rap concerts. The PA Boys had ties to Detroit rap superstar Eminem through the transcendent hip hopper’s best friend Deshawn (Proof) Holton, a member of the rapper’s side group D12 who was cousins with PA Boys enforcer Thelmon (T-Stuck) Stuckey.
Proof was killed in a bar fight in 2006. Stuckey, also known as “Lucky Terry” and an aspiring rapper himself, is doing life in prison for murdering a former cop.
